Every state bordering South Carolina has a flatter, more competitive income tax system and it shows in job growth and investment.

The S.C. House has taken an important first step toward income tax reform by passing a plan with built-in triggers to gradually lower the rate to zero.

But more must be done.

Reform must ensure relief reaches all South Carolinians and not stop short of full elimination.
