Stephanie Kurzeja
A native South Carolinian from Aiken, Stephanie Kurzeja joined the South Carolina Policy Council in August of 2011 as a Senior Policy Analyst. She graduated from Aiken High School in 1998 and attended Florida State University, acquiring a B.S. in Criminology, a B.S. in Chemical Science, and a Master’s in Criminology. While at FSU, Stephanie played varsity soccer and worked for a private research consulting firm and the Florida Courts Administration.
Stephanie returned to South Carolina in 2007 and spent four years working for the Legislative Audit Council as a performance auditor. At that position, she focused on issues involving the efficiency and effectiveness of state agencies and programs, evaluated state agencies’ compliance with laws and regulations, and ensured agencies conduct their operations with a minimum of waste and duplication. Her particular areas of interest include alternative drug treatment courts, government fraud and abuse, and the state procurement process.
